Postcards from Spring @TCU

Dear Horned Frogs,

As I reflect on my first full academic year as Texas Christian University President, I am exceedingly grateful for the Horned Frog community and excited for what the future holds. In the past several months, you have welcomed me into your research labs, classrooms, performances, practice fields, events and department meetings. These experiences have allowed me to witness firsthand what makes TCU’s culture and academic and student experience so unique.

The photos below were taken at places and events on campus and remind me of my interactions with so many amazing students, faculty and staff this spring. Thank you all for making my job fun and rewarding, for your dedication and passion inspire me daily. I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store for all of us.

Lead On, Horned Frogs!

President

The TCU Core Facility (“Core Lab”) is the only repository for rock cores in North Texas and was developed as a partnership between the Department of Geological Sciences and the Ralph Lowe Energy Institute.
The Core Lab provides a unique opportunity for students to participate in hands-on research while also serving the needs of energy companies who use the facility to store and examine core from all over the world.
Exciting times ahead as the Core Lab grows into the Center for Subsurface Research and Visualization.
A tour of the Department of Nutritional Sciences was a great way to learn about opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and what our talented faculty are achieving in the classroom and in labs.
Dietetics majors have a wide range of job opportunities, including work in hospitals, public health, research, sports nutrition and other health care facilities.
Robo-Con featured a robo-soccer game, a maze and a dance competition.
This was the second annual robotics competition for College of Science & Engineering.
TCU Chief Investment Officer Jason Safran welcomes guests to the 2024 Investment Strategies Conference.
The 20th ISC theme was “The Quest for Alpha.” TCU Investment Management and LKCM Center for Financial Studies at the Neeley School of Business presented the conference.
I was invited to go behind the scenes with students from Film, Television and Digital Media to watch them produce a TCU Baseball game for ESPN+.
Students are from three classes: Intro to Remote Sports, Remote Sports Production and Producing and Directing the Live Sports Event.
It was an honor to greet guests and featured speakers at the Neeley Women in the Workplace event in March.
Speaking with students in a consulting strategy class was a great way to start the day!
Working with George Kamar and Geoffrey Craig before a recording of the TCU Innovates podcast.
Filming TCU Magazine’s “TCU Presents” with Chancellor Boschini and hosted by Newy Scruggs ’23 MBA.
Faculty and staff gathered on May 2 to celebrate our amazing community and colleagues reaching milestone years of service.
Chancellor Boschini and I thanked our incredible employees for their dedication and commitment.
One of the many delicious “treat stations” our Sodexo team provided for faculty and staff to enjoy!
As a thank you for living our values every day, each employee received a miniature TCU Values/Frog Fountain for their office or home.
