Spirit of Enterprise Award

A Dynamic Duo: TCU and Fort Worth

Posted on

Dear Horned Frogs,

Recently, I had the honor of joining Chancellor Boschini and other TCU leaders in accepting the Spirit of Enterprise Award from the Fort Worth Chamber at its 2024 annual meeting. The award recognizes our significant contributions to the Fort Worth community and our critical role as a catalyst for economic development and innovation in the region.

TCU is proud to be the only local entity to receive this award twice (the last time was in 2005). It is not just an accolade for TCU; it is a reflection of the collaborative spirit that defines our partnership with Fort Worth.

In an acceptance video, Chancellor Boschini highlighted TCU’s shared history and deep relationship with Fort Worth. There is no doubt that he, along with Board of Trustees Chair Kit Moncrief and countless other TCU leaders, have recognized the value of our long-standing relationships and deepened those bonds for the benefit of our students and the University as a whole. The bonds infiltrate every corner of our campus – some highly visible and others at work behind the scenes.

From health care, business and service learning to education, research and thought leadership, every area of our University participates in community engagement, and each day provides new opportunities for innovation and impact. I’m excited to see how community engagement is reflected in our upcoming strategic plan and have been inspired by the feedback we’ve received in this area thus far.

TCU and Fort Worth have built an enviable relationship. For over a century, our alliance has propelled both entities forward, shaping our region’s education and economic development. Our foundation is strong, thanks to the Horned Frogs that came before us. Now, we are responsible for paying it forward to future generations by building on our commitment to innovation, leadership and community engagement.

Thank you, Fort Worth, for this recognition that means so much, and thank you, Horned Frogs, for your continued commitment to community engagement.

Together, TCU and Fort Worth will Lead On.
