No. 1 Equestrian Team Rides at the FWSSR

Howdy Horned Frogs,

There are two things you can count on during January in Fort Worth – cold weather and the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.

And here’s the good news! It will eventually warm up – and – TCU Day at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo is back again with free admission to the stock show grounds on Thursday, Jan. 25 if you are wearing TCU purple and half-off rodeo tickets (must present a valid TCU student ID or faculty ID at the rodeo ticket office for half off rodeo tickets for the TCU Day performance.)

Watch the TCU Equestrian team vs. Delaware St. University

Fans can see the TCU Equestrian team in action vs. Delaware State at 10 a.m. January 25 in the John Justin Arena at the Fort Worth Stock Show (just wear purple for free admission).

Did you know that the TCU Equestrian Team is currently No. 1 in the nation?  Last fall, I visited Bear Creek Farms, the team’s facility about 15 miles from campus, and was fascinated by the team, coaches and staff. It was like stepping into another world – filled with beautiful horses and blue skies, a magnetic team culture, a tradition of excellence and a deep appreciation for the animals and sport.

What I enjoyed most was meeting everyone and seeing their team vision displayed proudly in the team room (below). This group is focused, dedicated to the journey, and carries a championship mindset. If you can’t make it on Jan. 25, there are plenty of opportunities to see the team in action this spring (view the schedule on GoFrogs.com).

Grand Entry

Speaking of stepping into another world – I will join two TCU Equestrian riders in the Grand Entry of the rodeo on Jan. 25. I love the opportunity to showcase TCU and show our support for our Fort Worth community. The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo began in 1896 and is truly legendary. On TCU Day, you’ll also catch Superfrog, TCU Showgirls, Band and Rangers in the rodeo festivities.

See you there, Horned Frogs!
